MURMUR / project data confidentiality

PROJECT DATA & CONFIDENTIALITY

Effective 1 October 2026. This page explains how MURMUR handles non-public project material supplied for enquiries, architecture reviews, commissions and prototype collaborations. It supplements the store Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

What counts as project material

Project material can include sketches, drawings, photographs, recordings, CAD exports, diagrams, technical notes, BOMs, test records, measurements and other information you choose to provide for a project or service.

Purpose limitation

MURMUR uses project material only as reasonably necessary to assess the enquiry, perform and administer the requested service, communicate with you, maintain necessary business records, secure the service and meet legal obligations. Submission does not transfer ownership of your pre-existing project IP.

Your authority to share

Only submit material you own or are authorised to disclose. Do not submit another person’s confidential information, third-party source material, export-controlled information, passwords, full payment-card details or identity documents unless a lawful and appropriate process has first been agreed.

Confidentiality

Non-public project material is treated as confidential business material. MURMUR will not intentionally publish it, use it in an unrelated public portfolio or case study, or disclose it for an unrelated commercial purpose without permission, except where disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to providers supporting the requested service.

Service providers and storage

Project material may be processed using providers used for email, cloud storage, document handling, security, payments and storefront operations. Those providers may process data outside Australia. Do not use ordinary email for material whose sensitivity requires a separately agreed secure transfer method.

Patent and design disclosure

If your material may contain a patentable invention or registrable design, obtain your own advice about filing and disclosure before sending it. A confidential service relationship is not a substitute for a patent/design filing strategy.

Retention and deletion requests

Working material is retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the service, support, security, dispute handling and legal or accounting records. Backup or provider-retained copies may remain for their normal retention cycles. You may request deletion of project material that is no longer needed, subject to legal, recordkeeping, security and dispute requirements.

Marketing is separate

Submitting a project enquiry or buying a service does not by itself subscribe you to marketing. BUILD ACCESS and other marketing signups are separate. Marketing messages provide an unsubscribe mechanism.

Architecture Review

For the MURMUR Wearable Systems Architecture Review, the customer keeps ownership of submitted pre-existing project material and grants MURMUR only the limited permission reasonably needed to perform and administer the review. MURMUR retains its own pre-existing methods, templates, know-how, trade marks and unrelated background IP.
